Movies require an understated investment from us. We give two or three hours of our time, $10-50 of of our hard-earned money, and sometimes a small shred of our dignity. The great movies grant a sense of enlightenment or, at the very least, a sturdy ride of entertainment. Bad movies leave us feeling like the victims of a cinematic shell game.
