For this week’s Cinemavino, we veer away from horror movies to check out a 90’s cult classic:  Robert Redford’s hacker extravaganza Sneakers.  It appeared at the dawn of Al Gore’s Internet, and it contains some oddly prescient observations about how much power will lie with information in this new era.

I couldn’t help but think about the current election debacle, and our country has been ripped apart by not only information, but all the disinformation around it.  

Sneakers occasionally falls flat with some cornball humor and Ben Kingsley’s wandering American accent.  But it’s mostly a fun little movie.  And again, some its predictions are downright eerie.
